Inditex scores a bit in high-end design. And it does so through an alliance with the Dutch collective Kassl Editions, founded in 2018 with the aim of betting on products without gender and of extreme quality, among which its emblematic “pillow bags” or quilted bags and its premium coats stand out. whose prices can reach 1200 euros.
Coinciding with the celebration of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, organized from September 5 to 10, the star chain of the Inditex group presents the pieces of this capsule collection together with the Dutch firm through exhibitions in the flagship stores of Zara, in the number 11 of Corso Vittorio Emanuele, and of the Zara Home household chain, located in Corso Venezia 1. Likewise, the design collaboration has a dedicated space until next September 10 in Milan’s Piazza San Carlo. At an international level, the capsule will not be available until next Sunday, September 12, when it will go on sale in a selection of Zara stores and in its online boutique.
Limited edition, the capsule has a first proposal dedicated to ready-to-wear, composed of garments with a minimalist cut, comfortable style and sustainable positioning. Developed from noble materials such as nappa leather, satin or cashmere, used in various pieces such as the iconic Kassl Editions fisherman’s coat, waterproof nylon jackets, XXL scarves or a series of oversized bags. All the pieces are declined in the sober and elegant tones that characterize the Dutch collective, with a palette that travels from black to navy blue, passing through cream or burgundy colors.
Likewise, this alliance has allowed Kassl Editions the possibility of developing a series of decoration products, which will be marketed through the Inditex brand dedicated to home and decoration: Zara Home. A proposal that includes lamps, side tables, rugs, organization furniture, posters or even a sofa, in shades of burgundy, dark green or dusty pink. For its part, the prices of the products in the collection have not yet been revealed.
Through this unexpected union, the collective founded by Ilse Cornelissens, Bart Ramakers, Tim van Geloven, Charlotte Schreuder and Christian Salez will flirt with the democratization of their DNA, relying on Zara’s global character and its multitude of international clients.
For its part, Zara, which has already taken steps to professionalize and increase the quality of its catalog through collections together with major names in the sector, such as perfumery with Jo Malone, or makeup, by the hand of Diane Kendal; will advance its proposals dedicated to the premium segment in collaboration with a brand recognized by the “insiders” of the design universe. In this way of reinforcing the quality of its garments, Zara has used wool from the Italian luxury supplier Manteco in some of its coats for several seasons.
In the first quarter of the current year, Inditex achieved a net profit of 421 million euros, which contrasted with the losses of 409 million euros recorded in the same period of the previous year. For its part, sales rose 50% to 4,942 million euros.
