Chiara Ferragni is one of the biggest influencers in the world. Now she has signed a license agreement with the Safilo eyewear company, under which the blogger should take the first steps as an entrepreneur and design her own eyewear collection.
It is a multi-year license agreement for the design, manufacture and sale of an eyewear collection by Chiara Ferragni. The full range – prescription glasses and sunglasses – will be revealed for the spring / summer 2022 season and will hit stores from January.
Safilo CEO Angelo Trocchia described Ferragni as “one of the most famous and powerful digital entrepreneurs in the world”. Together with the company, she wants to create “a new leading and digitally supported fashionable eyewear brand that speaks directly to the new generations and works with the incredible power of Chiara’s global fan base to further strengthen Safilo’s presence in the digital universe”.
The CEO added that the deal “fits in perfectly with our brand portfolio and offers a significant opportunity for us to grow in the contemporary market segment”.
For her part, Ferragni stated that “Safilo not only stands for great glasses, but, like my brand, is also a great example of an Italian brand with global reach. They believe in my brand and in my potential in this new category”.
In the past few months, the company has “accelerated its digital projects and at the forefront seized new opportunities in the digital business. It made significant advances in product offerings, service levels, customer engagement and digital connections.”
The new agreement is a key element of this digital progress and it goes “in the same direction of the initiated digital change. With our strategy for active engagement, new generations are addressed through new languages and channels that reflect what is happening in the market”.
