Groundbreaking: Peek & Cloppenburg is building a new logistics center in Bedburg in North Rhine-Westphalia (Rhein-Erft district). The client is Horn Grundbesitz KG, which rents the building to Mode Logistik GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of the Peek & Cloppenburg Group.
In order to further strengthen the stationary trade of the Düsseldorf fashion company and to be able to “offer the desired goods in the right place” at any time, the company wants to bundle central functions at the new location in Bedburg.
A building with approx. 60,000 square meters of usable space, including a kitchen and company canteen, is being built on 106,000 square meters of land at Sanyallee 2. In the future, a photovoltaic system on the roof will produce sustainable electricity that will be used in the property.
The aim is to further increase efficiency and take expansion into account. The first earthworks for the new, modern logistics location in Bedburg have already started. This is to be handed over to Mode Logistik in June 2022 for the installation of the intralogistics.
The project has been registered for gold certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
