Executive Jean-Michel Granier, who joined the ranks of Adidas 18 years ago, announced his departure from the German company, which means he will step down from his current position as CEO in Latin America.
Without specifying the reasons for his decision or what his next step will be, Granier revealed through his social networks that it will be at the end of this year when his departure from Adidas is finalized, although he did not reveal the exact date of his last day in the company .
Granier took the opportunity to thank his team and his colleagues at the sports firm. “I would like to thank you all for this trip and for the incredible inspiration you have been for me,” said the former Carrefour.
The executive took general direction for Latin America in July 2016 supervising Adidas teams in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama and Peru.
Granier joined Adidas in 2003 as head of key accounts for the brand in France and in 2004 he came to Italy after being assigned as sales director, to later become general director of the Italian market.
In 2012, he was appointed Managing Director of the Southern Europe Division with responsibility for Adidas subsidiaries in Italy, Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Cyprus. Two years later, he took the position of managing director in South Korea until his arrival in Latin America.
The German brand has not commented on the matter, nor has it revealed the name of the possible replacement for Jean-Michel Granier.
