Converse makes its return in style in Colombia, the brand registered profits for the first time in four years in the country and is going for more. The sportswear brand has opened four new stores in Colombia, according to the official report from Mall & Retail.
Converse marked its official return to the Colombian market hand in hand of the Harari Group at the end of 2020. The Panamanian conglomerate that is a partner of Inditex in Panama and Colombia and responsible for the expansion of Nike in the country took over the representation of the youth brand due to its great potential in the Colombian market.
The company has strengthened its sales channels, not only with its own stores, but also with wholesale partners and concessions and expects to add at least 150 points of sale nationwide before 2022. Converse expects to close this year with a turnover of at least 30 000 million pesos (about 8 million dollars) in the country, and an annual growth of 88%.
The sportswear and apparel market continues to grow by leaps and bounds worldwide and Colombia is no exception. The largest marketplaces with a presence in the country such as Dafiti, Linio and Mercado Libre recorded increases of up to 400% in their sales of footwear and sportswear this year.
