Cartier has announced Timothée Chalamet as the brand’s new “Friend of the House”. The American actor wore a series of vintage Cartier pieces for the premiere of Dune at the Venice International Film Festival.

On Friday night, the 25-year-old actor celebrated the new friendship by sporting Cartier items for the Dune opening night in Venice. Chalamet stars in the remake of Franck Herbert’s famous science fiction story.

This latest edition of the cinema celebration marks the first time that Cartier has become the main official partner of the Venice festival, which this year runs from September 1 to 11.

Chalamet is recognized as a lover of fashion, often featured on lists of the best dressed men in the world. In February 2020, she appeared at the semi-virtual Academy Awards wearing a 1955 Cartier art deco mega brooch with 117 diamonds, rubies, white gold and platinum.

As a Friend of the House, Chalamet will collaborate with Cartier on various events and appearances.

“As a passionate, independent, open-minded and creative man, Timothée’s bold approach to life, conveyed through his career choices and free-spirited style, is intrinsically aligned with Cartier’s core values,” said Arnaud Carrez, Cartier’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.

In addition to Dune, Chalamet stars in the following releases this year: Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch and Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up. In addition to recently finishing Bones And All, directed by Luca Guadagnino, Chalamet will shortly begin production of Wonka, directed by Paul King. He should also play Bob Dylan in Going Electric, directed by James Mangold.

The role that brought the New York-born actor to fame was in Call Me by Your Name, the romantic story about Guadagnino’s first love, for which he was the youngest actor to be nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars in almost 80 years.
